Master List of Food Service Chemicals

August 13th, 2010 . by admin

I asked my secretary to make a list of all the items that we currently purchase from the commercial cleaners. We need to make a master list of all the chemicals in the hospital cafeteria and provide new MSDS sheets for each product. My secretary gave me an extensive list. It included heavy duty degreasers, no-rinse sanitizers, spray cleaners, and stainless steel polish. She mentioned that these items are concentrated chemicals and get diluted through an automated system before the employees use them. I made a note of her comment and was not sure if they played into the chemical hazard training that I was to schedule or not.

I Don’t Drink But They Do

July 30th, 2010 . by admin

I am not a drinker but my roommates are. They like to drink organic vodka and to me that is too strong. I tried it once and it took my breath away. My friends think that I am weird for not drinking but I don’t care. I just never found the taste appealing and I never like the idea of waking up in a ditch. So I am the designated driver whenever we all go out. I don’t mind because I would rather my friends get home safe then me not coming just become I don’t drink, It works for us.

The only function regarding a wine aerator

July 24th, 2010 . by admin

The only real purpose of any wine aerator would be to oxygenate large tannic wine. Aerating mainly separates your wine as much as possible so that you can supply a highest contact of liquid and air. Aerators are usually normally put to use in conjunction with the method of decanting wines since it will help accelerate the oxygenation process which is precisely why people decant wines in the first place. The moment wine is exposed to oxygen it starts to age. Wine beverages which are still closed which has a cork age above a substantially more period involving time however they get older nonetheless and that is simply because a very low sum of oxygen does eventually make its way through the cork…again more than a lengthy period of time. This particular procedure normally takes a long time though and therefore we decant our wines in order to help open up and also soften up these big and bold tannins so we are able to enjoy them today in combination along with the decanting process, aeration will beautifully wake up the most youthful wines as well as aid soften the largest of tannins.

Taste Of Coffee - Coffee Beans

July 23rd, 2010 . by admin

The taste of coffee is a subjective preference. However, there are a few rules in brewing good coffee. Arabica coffee beans are less bitter compared to Robusta beans, hence they taste better. Another secret is to purchase whole coffee beans because they retain the fragrant oils in the bean. The oil inside the beans degrade easily, and are usually damaged in ground coffee. If you have just started learning to brew coffee, do not go for the best coffee maker. A simple machine will do. However, it is wise to go for a semi-automatic coffee maker instead of a fully manual one initially in case you find it too troublesome after a while.

Buying A Coffee Maker

July 14th, 2010 . by admin

Both my parents love coffee. Because of that, I have been thinking of buying a coffee maker for the home. How does a beginner in coffee brewing select the best coffee maker? I am still trying to understand the different machines available. The people in cafes make coffee brewing look so easy, I wonder if I can use the machines well. I do not want a machine that takes up too much counter space. The coffee machine should also be easy to clean and have a good warranty since I hate breakdowns. Anyway, I hope my parents will be pleasantly surprised by my gift to them. I cannot wait to see their reaction.
