This is especially true of legal secretaries, who must be versatile and highly adaptable to change. A secretary in the legal world can expect an exciting and successful career. Skills that are necessary for success in the field include excellent written communication skills so that documents are prepared correctly and efficiently. A legal secretary must also be able to answer telephone phone calls from clients and be efficient at scheduling appointments and trial dates. General office duties such as filing and organizing are also a must. And, in order to perform the job effectively, the secretary must have excellent computer skills.
