These days alost all vehicles are fitted with wiperblades, even airplanes have them. J. H. Apjohn was an American inventor and he first came up with the idea of a wiperblade. Later in 1903 Mary Anderson created the ‘swinging arm’ wiperblade that we still use today. Windscreen wipers are usually used in conjunction with the spray from a pump which sprays fluid onto the screen to help with visibility. The choice of fluid to fill the pump is usually between water and wiper fluid, there are pro’s and con’s for each. As technology advanced in later years wiperblades were added to rear windows and also to headlights. The development of technology has been rapid in recent years and we now have wiperblades with sensors that activate when it rains.
